  • How to get rid of itching and irritation after insect bites

    Опубликовано: 2025-04-28 15:28:31

The summer season brings not only warm sunny days and recreation in nature, but also a lot of unpleasant encounters with insects. Mosquitoes, gadflies, midges, wasps and bees can seriously spoil your vacation, leaving behind itchy bites and irritation. Although there are many means of protection on the market, they are not always effective. In such cases, proven folk methods come to the rescue, which help to quickly cope with the consequences of stings.

One of the simplest and most accessible means is plantain. It is enough to knead its leaf and apply to the affected area. This plant has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, helping to relieve itching and reduce swelling. Similarly, you can use the leaves of black elderberry, which also have a disinfectant effect.

Ammonia and baking soda are two other effective ways to treat bites. A solution of ammonia (in a ratio of 1:3 with water) helps to reduce inflammation and disinfect the bite site. A soda solution (a teaspoon per glass of water) relieves irritation and prevents the development of an allergic reaction.

Menovazine is a pharmacy remedy that will help reduce itching, pain and redness. Its alcohol base has a cooling effect, so that unpleasant sensations pass faster. This remedy is especially useful in cases where the bite has caused severe swelling.

Garlic is also a popular folk remedy. You need to crush a clove of garlic, add a little water and apply the mush to the affected area. Garlic has natural antiseptic properties and helps to reduce inflammation. However, it should be used with caution, especially on sensitive skin.

Soda and salt are affordable and simple ingredients that can help reduce discomfort. A soda flatbread applied to the bite eliminates itching and prevents inflammation. And fine table salt, if you gently rub it on the affected area, accelerates healing and relieves irritation.

These folk methods will help to cope with the consequences of bites quickly and safely. However, if the body's reaction to the bite is too strong, accompanied by swelling, fever or other alarming symptoms, it is better to consult a doctor.
