The volume of funds in bank accounts of individual entrepreneurs exceeded 150.4 billion hryvnias

As of March 1, 2025, the volume of funds in bank accounts of individual entrepreneurs (IEPs) in Ukraine exceeded 150.4 billion hryvnias. Despite the fact that the share of entrepreneurs among all depositors is only 3.2%, they control 10.8% of the total amount of deposits in the country's banking system.

This was reported by the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Individuals.

In general, as of the beginning of March 2025, the volume of deposits of individuals, including IEPs, reached 1.391 trillion hryvnias. In February, the volume of deposits increased by 12.7 billion hryvnias, which indicates a stable growth in the deposit base.

What is the structure of deposits of Ukrainians?
Deposits of the population are divided by currency:
- 897.6 billion hryvnias – deposits in the national currency (an increase of 14 billion hryvnias in February).
- 493.5 billion hryvnias – deposits in foreign currency, which is 1.2 billion hryvnias less than in the previous month.

The most common deposits remain from 10 to 200 thousand hryvnias, which account for 57.36% of all deposits. At the same time, almost half of all deposits (49.15%) are concentrated in the hands of only 0.53% of depositors who hold more than 600 thousand hryvnias in their accounts.

Distribution of deposits in different banks
Individual funds are stored in three main categories of banks:
- Banks with a state share – own 62.27% of the total volume of deposits.
- Banks with private Ukrainian capital – 20.27%.
- Banks of foreign banking groups – 17.46%.

Thus, most depositors prefer state-owned banks, which may indicate a higher level of trust in these financial institutions.

The overall growth of the deposit base in Ukraine, in particular among individual entrepreneurs, indicates a gradual stabilization of the financial system and the preservation of the trust of entrepreneurs and the population in the banking sector.
