An important draft law necessary for Ukraine's accession to the European Union has received the support of the Verkhovna Rada. Draft Law #10203-1 provides for an increase in the number of employees of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) from 700 to 1000. This was reported by MPs Iryna Gerashchenko and Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

322 MPs supported the adoption of the draft law in the second reading, determining a gradual increase in the number of NABU employees. According to the document, the number of employees of the institution will increase by 100 people annually for three years. Thus, the total number of NABU central and territorial offices will increase from 700 to 1000 people.

It also provides for an increase in the number of management staff from 500 to 750 people.

Particular attention is paid to the categories of personnel, which include employees of rapid response units, units for the protection of participants in criminal proceedings, units for ensuring the safety of employees, operational and technical units and detectives of the NABU.

The NABU has already expressed gratitude to MPs, the government, international partners and the public sector for supporting the draft law and announced the start of preparations for the staff expansion. The President is expected to sign the document as soon as possible.
