Over the past six months, farmers have leased 20,521 hectares of state agricultural land through the Land Bank system on sublease terms, based on the results of auctions in Prozorro.Sales. This was made possible by expanding access to public land resources through the electronic system.
According to information released by the Land Bank, the system operates in 18 regions of Ukraine, and the total number of concluded sublease agreements has already reached 271. This approach allows significantly increasing the transparency and accessibility of the state land market for farmers, creating competition and contributing to a more equitable distribution of land plots.
The largest amount of state land was transferred to farmers in three regions. Thus, 42 agreements were concluded in the Kirovohrad region for an area of 3,896 hectares. Mykolaiv region leased 16 plots with a total area of 3,298 hectares. Poltava region became the third leader, where 15 plots of 2,520 hectares were leased.
The activity in these regions can be explained by the high demand among farmers for land, as well as the availability of land plots that were put up for auction. In particular, these regions have great agricultural potential and infrastructure, which makes them attractive to tenants.
On the other hand, the lowest number of transactions was recorded in Lviv, Odesa and Cherkasy regions. This is likely due to the fact that fewer land plots were available in these regions at the first stage of the auctions. However, this process is still ongoing, and over time, rental opportunities in these regions may increase significantly.
In general, the Prozorro.Sales system provides transparency and competitiveness in the state land lease market, which contributes to more efficient use of resources and support for the development of the agricultural sector in Ukraine.
