Winter season in the Carpathians: housing rental prices are rising

With the onset of cold weather in the Carpathians, the winter tourist season has started, which is accompanied by the traditional increase in housing rental prices. The most popular mountain resorts of Lviv region and Ivano-Frankivsk region, as always, offer a wide selection of accommodation for tourists: from private houses and hotels to affordable rooms in hostels.

This year, the cost of renting housing in the Carpathians has increased significantly, especially in the most popular tourist destinations. According to OLX Real Estate data, Bukovel, in particular the village of Polyanytsia, traditionally remains the most expensive option. Here, the average cost of renting a house per day is UAH 4,750, which is 19% more than last year.

In second place in terms of cost is the village of Tatariv, where a house can be rented for UAH 3,200 per day, which is 7% more expensive than in 2023. In the nearby village of Mykulychyn, the rental price has remained stable and is about UAH 2,500 per day, which allows tourists to choose a budget option.

Yaremche is noted for its unique offer: houses for rent cost an average of UAH 1,800 per day, which is even 10% cheaper than last year. New multi-apartment complexes are being actively built in the city, which has increased the demand for renting apartments, which will cost an average of UAH 2,400 per day.

Among the more affordable options is the popular village of Vorokhta, where the daily rent of a house costs UAH 1,800, which is 20% more than last year. But in Yablunytsia (Dragobrat resort), prices have remained unchanged and amount to UAH 1,500 per day.

Locations in the Lviv region, such as Slavsko and Skole, are also in demand among tourists. The cost of renting a house in Skole is UAH 2,250 (+12.5%), and in Slavsk - UAH 2,000 (+10%). According to market estimates, the average increase in rental prices in the Carpathians for a year was about 10-15%. However, during the high season starting at the end of December, the rent can increase even more.

For those looking for more economical options, accommodation in hotels or resorts is cheaper. For example, you can rent a room in Yaremche for UAH 800, in Slavsk for UAH 1,100, and in Mykulychyna and Vorokhta for UAH 600 per day.
