Additional 335 million for Kherson: Government supports reconstruction of Kakhovka HPP

The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional UAH 335 million for the Kherson region to eliminate the consequences of the damming of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant by Russia. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

"Winter is approaching and the work to restore water and heat supply to Kherson residents needs to be accelerated. The state has provided the necessary funding. In total, the Government has allocated almost UAH 335 million to restore the city's infrastructure damaged by the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station," said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy.

In particular, UAH 186.9 million is being allocated from the state budget reserve fund to restore water and heat supply facilities in Kherson that were damaged as a result of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station dam explosion. This amount is allocated for the restoration of water supply facilities (UAH 145.65 million) and heat supply facilities (UAH 41.28 million).

The Cabinet of Ministers has also allocated UAH 147.98 million to restore the transport infrastructure in the city that was damaged by the hydroelectric dam explosion.

Earlier, the government allocated an additional UAH 980.6 million from the state budget reserve fund to take measures to ensure the transportation of drinking water for the needs of Dnipropetrovs'k, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has previously allocated UAH 120 million to the State Agency of Water Resources to ensure sustainable supply of drinking water to the residents of Mykolaiv. The Government continues to support the regions affected by the terrorist attacks to ensure comfortable conditions for residents and restore infrastructure.
