Ukraine will take a step towards the sustainable development of the medical field: solar power plants for primary care facilities

As part of a joint project of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Bank, solar power plants will be installed at 130 primary care facilities. This is an important initiative aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing electricity costs in medical facilities.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, it is planned to purchase sets of photovoltaic panels, inverters and batteries, which will ensure stable energy supply of institutions in the future. This step will ensure independence from traditional energy sources and reduce the impact on the environment.

The introduction of solar power plants is planned in a significant number of regions of Ukraine, in particular in Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Sumy, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. This will cover most regions of the country and ensure their sustainable development in the context of environmental and economic aspects.

The process of installing the solar power plants is expected to take approximately five months, after which primary care facilities will be able to actively use solar energy as a supplemental power source. This will not only reduce energy costs, but also allow the saved funds to be used freely to improve infrastructure and medical equipment.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Health, the introduction of photovoltaic systems is an important step towards the sustainable development of the Ukrainian medical field. This is an investment in the future, which will contribute to the conservation of resources and increase the efficiency of medical institutions, which, in turn, will have a positive effect on the quality of providing medical services to the population.
