Over the past year, state budget revenues from the excise tax on excisable goods produced in Ukraine and imported into the country's customs territory have increased by almost 20%.
The press service of the State Tax Service of Ukraine reported that in January of this year alone, the budget received UAH 6.6 billion from the excise tax.
This amount exceeds the revenue figure planned by the Ministry of Finance by UAH 1.1 billion, or almost 20%. The total amount was supplemented by another UAH 400 million.
The State Tax Service noted that this growth was achieved due to additional excise tax revenues from various industries:
on imported tobacco products - UAH 1.2 billion, which is 162.6% of the planned amount;
on electricity generated in Ukraine - UAH 0.44 million more than planned, which is 187.2% more than planned;
revenues from alcoholic beverages and wine produced in Ukraine amounted to UAH 0.2 billion, exceeding the plan by 130.4%.
Such a significant increase in excise tax revenues indicates a certain stability in these industries and the effectiveness of fiscal policy.
