  • Expert forecasts: How the IT industry will change in 2024

    Опубликовано: 2024-02-14 09:30:05

The outflow and inflow of specialists to different regions of the country in the context of war and instability is becoming a key trend in the IT industry. According to Yaryna Vozniak, Head of the Lviv IT Cluster research team, this year's regional distribution in the IT community will depend on the migration of specialists, the situation at the front, and other factors. These issues are discussed in detail in the article "IT map of Ukraine. How IT professionals migrate, work and pay taxes in different regions of the country".

According to IT Research Ukraine, there is an outflow of specialists from the west of the country and their inflow to Kyiv and Kharkiv. It is noted that every fifth person who moved came back from abroad. Experts believe that this trend may continue if the security situation does not change radically.

According to Voznyak, about 3.5% of all IT workers in Ukraine plan to return to their hometowns in the near future, while another 5.9% are considering moving to other locations within the country.

Regarding the development of the IT industry, the ITU points out the need to address booking issues. It is noted that only 1% of the entire IT industry is booked, which is a critically small figure.

"The difficulty in booking key IT professionals negatively affects the state of exports and the maintenance of the industry's growth rate. The possibility of short-term business trips for key employees of IT companies is necessary to maintain contracts and get new customers," the association said.
