  • Polish farmers announce strikes on the border with Ukraine

    Опубликовано: 2024-02-08 09:30:52

Polish farmers are planning to go on strike on February 9, blocking the Dorohusk-Yagodyn checkpoint. According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, the action is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m. Kyiv time and involve the use of agricultural machinery.

Preliminary data from the Polish side indicate that local farmers intend to start a strike at various checkpoints on the border with Ukraine on the morning of February 9.

According to representatives of the State Customs Service, the blocking of the Dorohusk-Yagodyn checkpoint will allow buses and one truck in each direction for an hour, as well as unimpeded passage of humanitarian aid and fuel tanks to enter Ukraine.

Ukrainian customs officials have received information about the border blockade and plan to meet with representatives of the Polish customs administration to clarify the situation at other checkpoints.

After the official confirmation of the border blockade by Poland, the State Customs Service promised to provide additional information about the situation at the checkpoints.

It is known that Polish farmers are going to block all border crossings with Ukraine and block roads in certain voivodeships. This step is a response to the passivity of the Polish authorities in resolving issues related to the import of agricultural and food products from Ukraine, which has caused discontent among the agricultural community.
