In January of this year, Ukraine noted a significant increase in exports via sea routes, which indicates the resumption of the Ukrainian sea corridor. This was announced at a government meeting by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"The Ukrainian maritime logistics corridor has been successfully operating for six months. The lifting of the Black Sea blockade six months ago and the intensification of Ukrainian maritime trade have become important steps," the Prime Minister said.

At the same time, progress has been made in launching a project to insure export cargoes against war risks, including insurance for ships calling at Ukrainian ports.

"More than 660 vessels have already sailed through the new grain corridor, delivering about 20 million tons of cargo to 32 countries. I would like to note that 70% of these cargoes are agricultural products of our agricultural producers," emphasized Shmyhal.

In January, Ukraine's exports via sea routes reached the pre-war level, and the total exports came close to the pre-conflict levels.

In monetary terms, Ukraine's total exports in January amounted to $3.1 billion, of which $1.9 billion was maritime exports.

"This contributes to the accumulation of domestic resources. Every hryvnia that comes to the budget from export trade is spent on defense. This means better provision of the military, the purchase of drones, ammunition, innovative developments in the defense industry and much more," the Prime Minister explained.
