Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has threatened to block the European Union's financial assistance to Ukraine and demanded that EU leaders review the strategy of support for Kyiv.
According to Politico, Orban also expresses his indignation that Europe continues to support Ukraine, while the United States, which was the main provider of military aid, has reduced its financial efforts due to political wrangling in Congress.
Orban has raised the possibility of using his veto power to block the disbursement of the planned €50 billion in aid to Ukraine. These funds are considered critical for financing the Ukrainian government, especially in the face of an armed response to Russia's threatened invasion.
Orban also threatens to block 500 million euros in military aid to Ukraine and postpone the official negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, scheduled for a meeting of the European Council on December 14 and 15.
