On April 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine made an important decision to support frontline communities, allocating UAH 1.8 billion to meet priority needs in nine regions most affected by Russian aggression. These funds will allow for the construction of new shelters, emergency recovery work, and infrastructure strengthening.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, emphasizing that the state provides the necessary support to communities in a zone of constant danger. According to him, the decision was a response to the most acute challenges facing these settlements.
Funding will be provided to 180 communities located in Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. These regions are regularly hit by Russian troops and are facing large-scale destruction of housing and infrastructure.
The funds will be directed to several key areas. First, communities will be able to quickly carry out emergency and recovery work after shelling. Second, the construction of new protective shelters for the population will be financed. In addition, the purchase of special equipment for utility companies, as well as repair and support of heat and gas supply networks, is envisaged.
“We lend a shoulder to our communities that need it most,” the head of government emphasized. According to him, ensuring the safety and livelihoods of residents of front-line territories remains a priority for the central government.
This decision was made in fulfillment of the instructions of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky. It demonstrates a consolidated state policy of supporting regions on the front line of defense and is an important step in saving lives and restoring damaged infrastructure.
