One thousand hryvnias from Zelenskyi: procedure for receiving payments and sources of funding

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced a new program of financial support for citizens, under which Ukrainians will receive one thousand hryvnias. These funds will be credited to a special "National Cashback" card, which can be issued through the "Action" application. This was announced by First Deputy Minister of Economy Oleksiy Sobolev on the air of the "We are Ukraine" TV channel.

Sobolev emphasized that the payment of one thousand hryvnias will be available to every person, regardless of age and social status. The money can be used in the period from December to February. "Payments will be made to the National Cashback card, which is virtual and can be opened through Diya," he said.

Among the possible expenses for which these funds can be used, Sobolev named the payment of utility services, medicines, transportation costs, mobile communication, as well as the purchase of Ukrainian books. It will also help support Ukrainian small and medium-sized businesses. "This money is marked, that is, it can be spent only on specified purposes. However, it will also be possible to donate it to the Armed Forces of Ukraine," added the deputy minister.

He also noted that parents will be able to arrange payment for their children. Regarding the financial burden of the program on the state budget, Sobolev explained that the final amount will depend on the number of Ukrainians who want to take advantage of this opportunity.

According to him, no new funds will be allocated from the budget for the implementation of the program. "These are not new funds. These are funds from existing programs that we will redirect. These are the money that we did not have time to use this year. In addition, they cannot be directed to military expenditures, since these funds were allocated by donors with the condition that they would not can be used for the army," Sobolev emphasized.

It should be noted that the state support program should start on December 1. Thus, every Ukrainian will be able to receive one-time assistance in the amount of 1,000 hryvnias, which should support not only citizens, but also Ukrainian business in difficult times.
