The US State Department has decided to approve the sale of EA-37B aircraft equipped with electronic warfare (EW) systems to Italy. This is an important step in the development of Italy's defense capabilities and the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the military sphere.

The relevant information was published on the website of the Pentagon's Security Cooperation Agency, as reported by "European Truth". The Italian side has submitted a request for the purchase of not only EA-37B aircraft, but also related equipment, which will include the necessary components to ensure their effectiveness.

In addition to aircraft, the program also provides support, training, spare parts, maintenance and documentation. While the number of each component was not disclosed, the estimated total value of the deal is $680 million.

According to the State Department, the proposed sale of aircraft will significantly increase Italy's capabilities in confronting current and future threats. It will also contribute to increasing operational interoperability with the US Air Force, as well as improve command and control communication in the event of Italy's participation in international operations.

Electronic warfare systems installed on EA-37B aircraft will allow Italy to respond more effectively to threats and ensure greater security of its military units during missions abroad.

The sale not only underscores the strengthening military ties between the United States and Italy, but also reflects the growing efforts of both countries to ensure stability and security in the region.
