Ukrzaliznytsia will introduce new passenger rolling stock in the fall: what to expect

This autumn, Ukrainian passengers will be able to travel in new modern carriages, which Ukrzaliznytsia is actively preparing to enter the routes. As part of the renewal of the rolling stock in Ukraine, the construction of 66 new passenger cars is underway, which should significantly improve the quality of railway travel.

As the press service of the company notes, the first of the new cars will enter the routes already in the fall of 2024. According to the chairman of the board of "Ukrzaliznytsia" Yevhen Lyashchenko, the new cars will be equipped with all the necessary amenities for comfortable and safe movement.

Among the new batch, various types of carriages will be presented, including compartment cars, SV class carriages, as well as four specialized carriages for persons with disabilities. In addition, it is planned to introduce new reserved carriages, which will also be equipped with modern technologies and amenities.

All new carriages will receive modern equipment including air conditioning systems, vacuum toilets, changing tables, adjustable lighting, power outlets and USB/Type-C ports for charging electronic devices. In addition, the carriages will be equipped with coffee machines for the convenience of passengers and video surveillance systems to ensure safety on board.

"Ukrzaliznytsia" also cooperates with the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine in the matter of updating the passenger fleet. It is planned not only to purchase and modernize wagons, but also to purchase new high-speed trains that will help ensure high-speed connections between cities.

Renewal of rolling stock is an important component of the company's strategy to improve the quality of passenger service and increase the popularity of rail travel. The introduction of modern carriages is aimed at increasing the comfort and convenience of passengers, as well as making rail travel more attractive for citizens of Ukraine and foreign tourists.
