Naftogaz Group is expanding cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to ensure energy security in Ukraine, in particular through the purchase of gas piston installations. This was announced by Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz, after a meeting with UNDP representatives.

As part of this agreement, "Naftogaz" will acquire modern gas piston installations, which will significantly increase the company's ability to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and heat to Ukrainians during the winter period. "We have reached agreements on the purchase of gas piston units, which will further strengthen our ability to ensure energy stability in the winter period," Chernyshov noted.

The head of Naftogaz also expressed gratitude to the UNDP for its support in overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression. In particular, Chernyshov noted the importance of UNDP assistance in restoring and modernizing Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

With the beginning of autumn, preparations for the heating season are gaining momentum. An important component of this preparation is the accumulation of natural gas reserves. Chernyshov said that by November 1, when the heating season will potentially begin, Ukraine should accumulate at least 13.2 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities.

This strategy will reduce the risks of interruptions in the supply of energy resources in the winter period, especially given the current challenges in the energy sector. The purchase of gas piston units is part of a broader plan to modernize the energy infrastructure and increase its resistance to external influences.

Cooperation with UNDP is an important step on the way to strengthening Ukraine's energy security and ensuring stable heating and electricity supply in the face of modern challenges.
