Ukraine, having overcome the difficult challenges of war and changes in the economy, is facing an important social issue - high unemployment. According to a study by Slovo i Dilo, our country is among the ten countries with the highest unemployment rates in the world.

Today, there are more than 200 million unemployed people in the world, and Ukraine, as one of the countries that has gone through a full-scale war, takes an honorable place in the top 10 countries with the highest unemployment rate. According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), last year the unemployment rate was 21.1%, and this year it is expected to drop to 19%.

According to the NBU's forecasts, the labor market situation in Ukraine is expected to improve further in the coming years. In particular, in 2024, the unemployment rate is expected to reach 16.9%, and in 2025 this figure should decrease to 14.4%.

The decline in unemployment is associated with the improvement of the economic situation in the country. After the war and difficult reforms, Ukraine is able to achieve stable economic growth, which will help create new jobs and reduce unemployment.

However, it should be borne in mind that high unemployment is a serious social problem, and the government should pay due attention to supporting unemployed people and developing the labor market. Joint efforts of the government, business, and civil society are important to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life of the population.

Ukraine has the potential to become a country with a stable economy and low unemployment, and the consequences of the war are gradually fading away. The NBU continues to develop initiatives and strategies to ensure economic recovery and reduce unemployment in Ukraine.
