Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak has announced an ambitious goal to turn the Polish Army into the strongest land army in Europe, with 300,000 soldiers.
According to Polskie Radio, this is an ambitious goal with which Poland hopes to ensure its national security and strengthen its defense position. The army development plans are being discussed during the great military oath, which has already been taken by 850 soldiers of the Polish Armed Forces, the largest group of soldiers entering service this weekend.
Minister Blaszczak emphasized that it is important to preserve the country's defense capabilities and defend its territorial rights. He emphasized the importance of deterring any aggressor, including Russia, and expressed confidence that a strong Polish army will make the nation safe.
It should be noted that the Russian invasion of Ukraine prompted Poland to increase defense spending. The Polish government plans to allocate 4% of GDP to the army, which is twice the NATO norms. This decision is aimed at strengthening the army's capabilities and readiness to act in case of any threats to national security.
Poland emphasizes the need to ensure its defense capability and readiness to defend its territory in any possible scenario. In the international context, this decision demonstrates Poland's growing role in ensuring stability in the region and assisting its NATO allies.
